I looked in the pond today and there was a little froggy eye looking back at me! Then I looked in a different part of the pond and there it was again. Quick mover I thought but it turns out there are actually two!
God knows how they got there, the garden is surrounded by high walls and patrolled by many cats. They must be able to fly. They are both fully grown and very plump looking. I wonder if they’re about to spawn.
This photo is a four second exposure with the camera on a tripod looking down into the water. The frog is right at the bottom of the pond. It’s lit by a bright LED torch which I’m holding under the water to prevent glare off the surface.

Made from cut up seed tray. Will this work? I doubt it. I’ll keep up my slug and snail patrols every night to be on the safe side.
