I finally finished and scanned my first (and last) roll of Portra VC. I seem to have managed to underexpose most of the shots slightly. This was an exposure of a second or so.

BuildBrighton held a soldering workshop at Popup Playgroup (formerly Hector’s House). There were a selection of kits for people to assemble, all of which make noises.

This is a 15 second exposure of lasers lighting up Brighton’s decrepit West Pier in honour of Chinese New Year and beer or something.
The red and white streaks on the right are the lights on a passing boat.
The pier and ground are covered with snow from a brief flurry that happened a couple of hours before.

I need a better tripod, too many of these were spoiled by camera shake.
30 second exposure, the streak in the sky is a plane, not a shooting star.
Nearly froze to death on that beach.

BuildBrighton which took place at Komedia on 30th October.
Seb Lee-Delisle’s talk on motion controlled gaming involved the crowd waving glow sticks around.

I went back to the raw file of this photo (the one in the Brighton by Brighton show). Here we have a very different white balance (
the original is similar to how it came off the camera, orange from the street lights of the promenade), a bit brighter and a different crop. I quite like it, what do you think?
