I went there.

I went there.
Probably the clichédest photo it’s possible to take in Brighton and on a Lomo too. You guys, I *totally* went there.

Cyanotype Experiment 2

Cyanotype Experiment 2
This is an A4 sized cyanotype contact print with a laser print on paper of this. It took maybe 6 hours over two sunny days to get a fairly limp result (it looks much less dramatic in person without tweaking in the scan). I think I might invest in some laser acrylic sheets.

Laser Pier again

Laser Pier again
This is a 15 second exposure of lasers lighting up Brighton’s decrepit West Pier in honour of Chinese New Year and beer or something.

The red and white streaks on the right are the lights on a passing boat.

The pier and ground are covered with snow from a brief flurry that happened a couple of hours before.

Laser Pier
I need a better tripod, too many of these were spoiled by camera shake.

30 second exposure, the streak in the sky is a plane, not a shooting star.

Nearly froze to death on that beach.

Pier Framed
I framed up my pier in the snow picture. Thanks to Mr Squiddle and the others at Colourstream for help and advice with cropping and stuff. Frame from Habitat.

Snow Covered West Pier - revisited

Snow Covered West Pier - revisited
I went back to the raw file of this photo (the one in the Brighton by Brighton show). Here we have a very different white balance (the original is similar to how it came off the camera, orange from the street lights of the promenade), a bit brighter and a different crop. I quite like it, what do you think?
